It is very rare that a chancellor comes to meet his students! We, the students of Chinmaya Eswar Gurukula, Kochi campus of the Chinmaya University, had the good fortune to meet our chancellor Pu. Swami Swaroopananda on 24th of November. Grabbing this golden opportunity, we decided to make the meet a special one. The session began with the prayer invoking the blessings of the Lord. The welcome speech was delivered by one of our UG student. A few students shared their past experiences and also about what they felt they could contribute to the University. A skit performed by MA students made the evening more joyful. Of course the hosting of the entire programme was taken care by one of the BCom students. In his speech, Swamiji focussed on the importance of studying Sanskrit which runs through our roots, our culture and the way our ancestors lived. Swamiji also mentioned about how a death of a language sounds a death knell upon the way of thinking. Swamiji motivated us by mentioning how we were fortunate to be learning the most precious knowledge here at the Chinmaya University and gave us the confidence to educate others as well. What more can inspire us apart from Swamiji’s motivational talks, an amazing enthusiastic evening with Swamiji which finally concluded with the vote of thanks by one of the students from BBA. ~ Report written by our BA Sanskrit student, Anagha Pradeep.
