Set in an extensive compound of 10 acres in Kerala’s lush, green country-side, amidst temple shrines and lily ponds, CEG campus offers a serene ambience that attracts aspirants who come in search of peace and solitude from the world over.
Over time, the sprawling campus has been renovated to accommodate faculty & staff residences, hostels. Today, we have research scholars visiting the elegantly furnished reference library that houses more than 15,000 books and more than 30 journal subscriptions. In addition, encompassed within the campus are a meditation hall, residential quarters, a fully functional computer lab with internet access, kitchen and dining facilities, temples and prayer rooms for solitude and worship, serene spaces for reflection and self-study, and lecture halls for discourses and conferences. This is an ideal place for learning, contemplation, and knowledge-seeking.
A prominent feature of the CEG campus is the vast expanse of flora & fauna that envelopes its entirety. The lush green campus welcomes a diverse community of students, faculty, staff & visitors in its midst.
CEG has a safe and secure accommodation for students with separate hostels for boys and girls. All rooms (2-bedded) have attached western-style baths. Hot water facility is available.
The Annakshetra serves vegetarian food and tea/coffee in the morning and evening. The catering staff at CEG is experienced at serving ample, tasty vegetarian meals. We are gearing to do more for our students and faculty.
CEG has facilities for badminton, open spaces for Yoga and areas where the students may walk to explore the campus. Regular outings would be conducted – within a 30-km radius of the campus there are several malls, cinema halls, shopping complexes and backwaters providing an ideal spot for boating.
The temple complex within the Adi Sankara Nilayam features the ancient shrines of Sri Ayyappa, Sri Rama, Sri Krishna, Sri Ganesha, Vettakkoruvan (Kirata Siva, the family deity of Sri Adi Sankara’s maternal family), and Goddesses Nagayakshi and Bhagavati.
It is indeed amazing to note that all the Gods chose the Adi Sankara Nilayam premises to bless it with their divine presence. The pond adjacent to the temple compound adds immense beauty to the serene surroundings and artistic structures.
As a befitting tribute to the omnipresent guiding presence of Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda there is a holy shrine built in the vicinity of the temple complex. This is used as a meditation hall as well as a venue for paduka-puja and private prayers.
The nearest banks with ATMs (HDFC Bank and State Bank of Travancore) are less than 1 km from the campus. The nearest post office is less than 5km away from the campus. The A P Varkey Mission Hospital is less than 5 kms away.
