Vanisree Ramanathan is an Associate professor in the Institute of Ethics, Governance, Culture and Social systems
Dr. Vanisree Ramanathan has 14 years of teaching, research and advocacy experience in interdisciplinary areas of sociology, political science, leadership programs, Demogrpahy and Law. She was a regular faculty member at Symbiosis Law School and MIT School of Government in Pune. She was also associated with Savitribai Phule Pune University and Symbiosis School of Economic as a visiting faculty for the subject of Sociology. Dr. Vanisree’s research areas includes, Public policy, Human rights, Good Governance, Social philosophy and Public health. Dr. Vanisree has also taught courses in Demography, Public administration and Business Ethics and Law.
Dr. Vanisree has published several research articles in international peer reviewed journals, delivered keynote speeches as well as presented papers in International conferences. She is an expert in using experiential learning methodology as well as participatory development paradigms. Regarding her stint with international institutions, she has served in BONELA, Botswana Network on Ethics, Law and HIV/AIDS in Gaborone, Botswana. She was awarded as the Best Researcher in the Humanities by Symbiosis Law School (2017) for the outstanding contribution in the academic year 2016-2017. She is also the recipient of’ Ugadi Puraskaram’ State Award for 2015 in the recognition of outstanding accomplishments and contributions in teaching and research in the field of law. As part of MIT SOG leadership program, she travelled across India and Interacted with eminent political, social religious and corporate leaders. She spearheaded the SOG study group and facilitated interaction with European organizations such as commonwealth secretariat, European Parliament, UNESCO, WTO, ICC, ICJ, NATO, and Hague university to mention a few.
